How Microsoft's Pricing Changes Impacts Your Business

Microsoft announced pricing increases that take effect March 2022. These increases will be applied universally to all subscriptions. Effective March 2022:

  • Office 365 E1 $10 per user per month
  • Office 365 E3 $23 per user per month
  • Office 365 E5 $38 per user per month
  • Microsoft 365 E3 $36 per user per month
  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic $6 per user per month
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium $22 per user per month

New Subscription Options

Microsoft also announced a new subscription option that includes an annual commitment. You can now choose between the month-to-month subscription you currently have, and an annual subscription

Month-to-Month Subscription

  • Billed monthly
  • Includes a 20% price increase in addition to the March 2022 pricing increase
  • Ability to add, remove or cancel subscriptions as needed

Annual Subscription

  • Billed monthly for 12 months
  • No price increase included in addition to the March 2022 pricing increase
  • Ability to increase the number of licenses as needed
  • Decreasing the number of licenses, cancelation or changing vendors can only be made at the end of the 12-month commitment on the anniversary date of the Microsoft annual purchase

  • Only the pricing increase will apply. There is no premium for this option
  • Changes can only be done at the end of your 12-month commitment (on the anniversary date of your Microsoft annual purchase). This means that for 12-months:
    • You can increase the number of subscriptions but cannot decrease the number of subscriptions
    • Your Microsoft contract will be tied to InhouseCIO for the duration of the subscription
    • You can only cancel or reduce the Qty’s can only be made annually on our Microsoft contract anniversary date.
